Permits Flow Procedures - Pre-Permit Service

In order to facilitate a smoother interface with the public, ADOT provides initial service. The steps shown on this page can occur in almost any sequence as designated by thedashed box around them. Not all off the steps need  to be completed to proceed.  Each District defines the timing and the requirements for each step.  The asterisk* signifies a variance between Districts.  Some applicants need an explanation of the permit process. Some only need to pick up the forms. Ways to help the applicant include: providing a list of documents needed to improve the quality of the request and to facilitate handling; providing a list of specs, drawings, etc. that the requestor will need to meet; fielding all inquiries to serve the needs of the public; responding to meeting requests; providing the forms help; and providing contact numbers.  Some Districts have established their own websites containing addresses, contact numbers, a list of forms, and basic instructions to help requestors.
