Inside Prescott District

MISSION STATEMENT

Provide a safe and efficient Transportation System meeting expectation of traveling public and attainment of employee goals.

The Prescott District has 152 employees.  Along with District Boundaries for the standard maintenance and Construction functions the Prescott District also houses the regional functions Traffic, which includes Traffic Signals and Striping and Signing. This wider regional function not only services the Prescott District, but also the Yuma and Kingman Districts.

Prescott District Adopt a Highway Program

The Arizona Department of Transportation Adopt A Highway Program started in 1988 and has grown to one of the largest in the country. Adopt A Highway groups enhance economic development through local beautification efforts. With over 280 Adopt A Highway groups in the Prescott District and those added throughout the State of Arizona, there is an estimated cost savings of over 1.5 million dollars annually to the state by having an effective Adopt A Highway Program.

The Prescott District Adopt A Highway Program has established a leading role by maintaining a constant line of communication with liaisons and volunteers. With over 570 miles of highway, the Prescott District currently maintains a 64% average of miles adopted throughout the district. We have also adopted a liaison program which allows volunteers to train new groups and hand out bags and vests.

Families, civic groups and businesses make up the volunteers for this program and are a great impact on the state highways and at the same time receiving personal gratification for their investment in keeping Arizona's highways clean.

If you would like to know more about the Prescott District Adopt A Highway Program, call Matt Huddleston at the District Office at 928.777.5875 or fax your letter to 928.771.0058.
