ADOT Roadway Drainage personnel are skilled in performing their duties as follows:
Conduct hydrologic analysis of watersheds contributing to highway drainage.
Conduct hydraulics analysis for design of culverts, channels, bank protection, storm drains, retention/detention basins, energy
dissipators, pump stations, siphons and other water control structures.
Conduct stream hydraulics analysis and design to mitigate stream instability, sedimentation and scour.
Conduct hydraulics analysis to ensure compliance with FEMA requirements at floodplain locations.
Provide technical depositions in highway drainage litigation.
Demonstrate as leader, to uphold the traditions and culture of drainage engineering established and practiced within the department from past to present.
